Will You Follow These Home Trends of 2017?
With Spring just around the corner, we look at what trends are in store for the season and the rest of the year.
While white can be a tricky colour because it can sometimes look really sterile, the raw white colour as shown above, will help give a natural and organic look to the home.
While it may be hard to look past all of the DIY projects of late, there will be a return to projects that require more skills like glass blowing, porcelain and woodworking.
Despite "Greenery" being the Pantone colour of the year, you can expect to see a lot of navy accents in homes.
Since we spent most of our days looking at flat screens, Patti Carpenter suggests that we will see more textures being added to our homes to compensate. Some styles will include pleating, heavy stitching, and luxurious soft materials.
Faux finishes are expected to rise in home trends since they are seen as being budget friendly and occasionally more reliable than authentic materials.
While some consider statement pieces to be too 'busy' others will be incorporating mixed patterns in their decor to make a bold statement. While too much can be a bad thing, highlighting one piece with a mixed patter like shown above, is really effective.
While they used to be a major motif in children's rooms, the butterfly has become favourable among adults and is being incorporated to various rooms of homes.
While some people have issues over the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year "Greenery", others are embracing the refreshing colour and incorporating it into their home.
Appliances & Rooms That Fold Up
Since there doesn't seem to be an immediate end to the tiny house market, we can expect to see more space saving designs throughout the year. The image above shows a collapsible kitchen that is also movable.
