Remember when living underwater was just a fantasy that was featured in movies and books? Well, with today's technology, living underwater doesn’t seem that unrealistic now and may be closer than we think.

Underwater Houses

In the near future, a company called H2OME is said to have houses on the market  that have two fully submerged floors in the ocean. While on the lower floor, homeowners will have a 360 degree view of the ocean. They can choose their own coral gardens to surround the house and attract tropical fish. The house will also be capable of having fully functional water, electricity, and sewage systems. Another company exploring the idea of an underwater abode is The Floating Seahorse. They offer a similar style home to the H2OME. The house will feature 3 levels with the bottom level that features the master bedroom and bathroom completely submerged underwater.  The bungalows will be located in the Arabian Gulf and require a boat or water plane to get to. Once there individuals can use jet-skis to get to the other islands.

Underwater Restaurants

While eating and gazing upon the ocean may already seem like a dream, the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island takes your ocean dining experience one step further. The restaurant provides a 180 degree view of the ocean above while you eat. The restaurant is entered through a hut above ground which has the staircase to transcend you below. 

Unreachable by land, to get to the Subsix at PER AQUUM Niyama  you need to take a speed boat and then descend upon three flights of stairs. Once you arrive you will be greeted by a full 180 degree view of the water. You can watch the fish swim by while either enjoying your food or a drink. This location acts as a restaurant by day and transforms into a bar nightly. 

Underwater Hotels

Sleeping with the fishes is no longer just a metaphor as the latest trend for hotels is to make an underwater escape. While some are creating private rooms with an ocean view, others like Oliver's Travels are allowing people to fully experience life underwater. You get to eat, sleep, and hang out underwater inside a submarine. There are only three other people on board with you (captain, chef and concierge) and they are bunking on the opposite side of the sub so that you have full privacy.
