Renovation Ideas For Your Bedroom

Your bedroom should be your personal hideaway, an escape from the day-to-day. Renovating your bedroom might seem overwhelming, but there is no reason why you can’t enjoy the process of creating a room that you love spending time in.

Use the space to express your feelings, favourite colours and collections. If you’re looking for some renovation ideas for your bedroom, here are some great ways that you can overhaul your bedroom into a personal sanctuary.

Choose Subtle Colours

Perhaps one of the biggest and most important decisions when renovating a room, choosing a colour for your bedroom is a huge task.

You may be drawn to bold, primary colours if you are looking to brighten a room, but these will only make your bedroom seem smaller. Instead of bright colours, choose soothing shades and tones that are relaxing. Gentle and soft hues, such as lavender, blue and green, are calm and serene colours, which is what you want for when you’re falling asleep. You can still use your favourite colours in your bedroom, but choose pumpkin over tangerine or mauve instead of eggplant.

Keep The Room Simple

You may be tempted to include lots of your favourite things in your bedroom, but during your renovation, try and declutter as much as possible. A bedroom should be simple, cosy and elegant, no matter what decorating style you choose. For ease of movement around the space, leave gaps of space between your furniture to make the room seem more spread out rather than cramped.

Furnish your bedroom with only what you need. Clutter and accessories should be kept to a minimum. Don’t be tempted to fill every available space with different things. Instead, choose a statement piece of artwork or arrange some of your favourite photographs and a few vases of flowers or candles.

Cover The Windows

Whether you have a small or large window in your room, a beautifully dressed one will add colour and softness to your bedroom. If you want to keep the light out, then invest in some good quality curtains or blinds to cover the windows and keep light from coming in. There are many different types of blinds that you can choose from that will be right for your room.

Curtains are a great way to add some extra texture to your room and will help to bring the whole room together.

Indulge In Luxury

A simple and cost-effective way to renovate your bedroom is to use luxurious fabrics. There are not many things which add comfort to a bedroom than beautiful materials. If you want to feel like you’re sleeping in a 5-star hotel room every night, then invest in some high-quality bed sheets. Choose ones which are 100% cotton or linen and have a thread count of 350 or higher.

Add some more sort and comforting fabrics to your room to really add to the cosy element. Whether it’s a soft throw over a high-back chair or footstool at the end of the bed or a soft wool blanket, fabrics are one of the easiest accessories to add to a bedroom which will completely transform the room.

Make Sure The Room Is A Getaway

There’s no point in renovating your bedroom if you’re not going to treat it like the luxury escape you want it to be. Try and keep things such as your mobile phone, computer and televisions out of the room to make it a true getaway. Instead, spend time making it into a place to relax and renew after a busy day.
