Fire Pots

A new trend you'll notice popping up on patios everywhere is fire pots. These structures can be circular or rectangular and run off natural gas. Due to their ability to run off natural gas instead of burning wood logs, the fire can be kept more controlled, there is no dense smoke, and you don't need to get up to maintain the fire. It is a popular choice for those looking for an aesthetic appeal and wanting heat.

Fire Pits

If you're looking for a fire source that not only provides an aesthetic appeal but also gives you an opportunity to cook, then consider a fire pit. Though not as easily controlled as a fire pot, the smell of apple or cherry wood is alluring and the taste they provide to food is impeccable. One of the undesirable elements of fire pits is the smoke and embers. Both can cause damage to your patio furniture and require you to frequently clean your pit to keep your area looking aesthetically pleasing.

Benefits of Fire Pots & Fire Pits:

  • Warmth - Typically the warmth provided by a fire place has a radius of around 180m around the source of the fire. So when considering a fire pot or pit, think of the placement and if it would be able to accommodate people sitting around it.

  • Light - Both options are a great source of light. Since a fire pot is controlled by natural gas, you can control the flames to give off more or less light. With a fire pit you have to add more wood for bigger flames but you can potentially obtain a greater source of light from a fire pit than a pot.

  • Ambience - Both options provide a certain level of ambience to your patio and definitely act as an area that attracts guests.

  • Socialization - Whether you choose a fire pot or a fire pit, you are providing a focal point in your backyard that will attract guests and encourage socialization.
