Project Highlights

Stego Industries, LLC - Graton Casino Resort

When preparing to install their interior forms, they would normally use form stakes, but this would require punching holes in the barrier. Repairing these holes once concrete is poured is not feasible. The first pour alone require approximately 250 cubic yards of concrete. Urata estimated that this would create hundreds of holes in the vapor barrier.

Instead, they used the Beast Foot System. Beast Foot, with its engineered peel-and-stick base, allows the use of blunt-end and threaded nail stakes to be used without puncturing the all-important Stego Wrap Vapor Barrier.

Duradek / Durarail - The Lofts at Mercer Roof Deck

After the property manager consulted with Duradek of Georgia, both parties agreed the first step was to ready the roof deck surface to prepare it for the Duradek membrane. This involved the labor-intensive task of grinding off all of the failed liquid coating. Then surface leveling compounds were applied to ensure water was routed towards drains which were placed to meet the local building code requirements.

Once the surface was properly prepared, Duradek Heritage Agate with cool roof qualities was installed. Applied with adhesives and heat welded seams to fully join the 6 ft width of the vinyl sheets, Duradek provided a completely water-tight seal. Duradek is installed only by applicators that are trained in the techniques required to integrate the membrane into the building envelope which includes running the membrane a minimum of 8 inches up interior perimeter walls between the building paper and the cladding.

Overall, it took one week to install the Duradek membrane and the building owner was extremely happy with the results. To this day, the rooftop deck has not leaked and the property manager enjoys the peace of mind that comes with a reliable, low maintenance waterproof deck surface.

The spa's owners commissioned Michael Pua of Perfect Sense, a renowned Singapore-based landscape, lighting and sound-design consultancy to create an experience both entertaining and soothing. His solution was to set pirate ships, and 3D sea creatures in an expanse of PolySoft Play/Splash, incorporating the colourful shapes of crabs, giant squid, seahorses and whales... Adjacent to the family area, he also created a forest hideaway of rock pools, Japanese tea cups and sake cups-a slightly more traditional spa experience for grown-ups.

In all, PolySoft provided 3,000 m2 of non-skid, soft-fall, easy-maintenance surface, made up of regular and super-sized PolySoft beads-to enable fast drainage.

TraffficGuard, Inc. - Giants Stadium Bollards

Fixed or removable parking lot bollards can be set up around the perimeter of your parking lot and along walkways to protect stadium entrances and walls from vehicle damage. They can be lined up around doors in a strategic pattern to visually warn approaching vehicles, and are constructed to withstand serious collisions. Once locked into place, removable bollards can prevent catastrophic accidents, and are optimal for securing parking lots when there are no vacancies. Using either a padlock of your choice or an internal locking mechanism, they are easily unlocked, permitting access for vehicles in specified areas once they are removed and stored. Using different kinds of traffic control posts can allow for different configurations, each with its own accessibility limits and borders.
