Outdoor Musical Instrument Creator, Percussion Play wins Queens Award for Enterprise
Percussion Play, creator of outdoor musical instruments for parks, care homes, libraries and schools, announced today that it has won a prestigious Queen’s Award. The company was informed that Her Majesty The Queen has approved the Prime Minister’s recommendation that they should receive a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category.
Founded in 2013 to bring musical instruments outdoors, Percussion Play builds and distributes its products for use throughout the world.
Now in its 55th year, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise is one of the most respected and esteemed global business awards.
The judges based their selection for this award on Percussion Play’s outstanding short-term growth in overseas sales during the past three years.
An expanded demand for intelligently crafted and harmonised instruments increased international sales by 85 per cent, which now accounts for more than 72 per cent of total sales. With clients and distributors in more than 50 countries, its top five markets are USA, Australia, Denmark, Canada and China.
After a recent installation of musical instruments into a park in Quitman, Texas that is focused on inclusive play, Quitman City Administrator, Rodney Kieke, said, “This addition greatly enhances our park and marks our city as a welcoming and inclusive-play friendly destination.
